I was truly blessed to have
enjoyed the company of so many distinguished men during my time under
the old flag.
Mr. Marcus Berrier, a banker and
dealer in fine textiles and woven goods, was from the thriving hamlet
of Tyro. He was a snappy dresser and a well-groomed dandy. Soon after
the company was formed he became our First Sergeant and his fashionable
wardrobe was forcibly laid aside
