Jersibine
Steelman was a Methodist from Fayetteville although you would never
knowit
by talking to him.
The boys called him "Jerry"
because Jersibine took too much work to say. He was one of the few men
who had a family depending on him back home. When asked why he joined
the army he replied he was just looking for something to do after he
finished his chores and before it was supper time.
